Liliane Eberle Bouquet

Photography is another form of language. It is my passion. I see and communicate with the world in a very active way.

My life has been dedicated to the study and creation of art and design. My current focus is on photography to create photos and collages that reveal hidden sensuality and poetry. In my work I always endeavor to achieve a harmony of shapes and colours.

Some cornerstones in my artistic career:

Born in Altstaetten, Switzerland, in 1962.

Childhood and adolescent years spent in the St. Gallen part of the Rhine valley (Switzerland).

My education at the Academy of Art and Design, “Farbe & Form,” in Zürich lay the foundation for my artistic work. I was also inspired by the Zürich Youth Movement of the 1980s and enjoyed living in the multicultural urban setting of the city of Zürich.

After graduating from the Kunstgewerbeschule in Bern (now Hochschule der Künste Bern) as an Interior Designer, I worked as a consultant and contracting interior designer for clients all over Switzerland and abroad.

The birth of my children in 1992 and 1994 compelled me to change my artistic focus. Equipped with crucial impulses from various study trips and internships in photo studios, I have now placed photography in all its manifestations at the center of my professional life.

Forms of Desire

These images evoke erotic impressions and feelings; the touching and uniting of bodies; attraction, well-being and warmth.

All these images were taken from the plant world. But the viewer's imagination perceives symbols of human life – bodies embracing, Cupid's arrow, and the willingness to open oneself.

This detailed perspective of hidden places reveals surprising similarities between contrasting spheres. The interplay of form and colour alludes to the dichotomy of genders, a desire to share something new.
