Maryanne Bilham
Divine Eros originally began as an attempt to better understand the direct relationship women mystics of the past millennium have had with the Divine. As we explored these women’s stories, we began to discover a common thread connecting them regardless of the culture or time period in which each woman lived. This discovery was quite simple yet profound. Each of these women’s lives and teachings focused upon qualities of the heart. This heart wisdom is often hidden in our culture today behind the face of technology and the arm of reason. In Divine Eros we look to these women’s stories to remind us of this heart wisdom and to prompt us to question what role these qualities play in our own lives. Finally, these stories remind us that the heart is the doorway to our own direct connection with the divine and to our own capacity as mystic.
