"Metamorphosis"

Berman's photographs capture animated and mysterious silhouettes that appear to be performing on water within an ethereal atmospheric bubble.  He exhibits a keen understanding of the kinetically vibrant relationship between the theatricality of his Surreal apparitions and the playful curiosity that they elicit. 

The name that he gives to this series of whimsical photographs is "Metamorphosis," a title which invokes underlying themes of transformation, transfiguration, and translucency.  Berman says, "The ambiguity of clearly defined subject matter is crucial; it is the provocative catalyst for thoughtfulness on the part of the viewer.  It's like the ephemeral implication of the word 'metamorphosis'."
