My passion for photography spans more than 25 years. I was born in the small town of Hollabrunn, Austria, moved to California when I was 11 years old. Fascinated with traveling all over the world with my family, I decided to study painting, an artform through which I felt I could share my impressions of the world. After studying painting at California State University at Fullerton, I accepted a position as a graphic designer at a local design studio.

I began taking architectural and product photos and felt immediately drawn to the work. Similar to painting, I found inspiration in finding unusual compositions and angles; however, instead of working with paints and brushes, I was now working with a camera and the vivid colors of the world.

What attracted me to photograph these graffiti walls were not only the intense colors and textures, but to freeze their existence at that particular time by creating my own compositions photographically.

The vibrancy of the color, the fluidity of the line, the surface of the material, the media used, the existence of the expression within, makes it the most up to date art form—an absolute expression of the existence of the human being in the world.

As a photographer, I’m drawn into and attracted to the spirituality, the quality of life, and the forces these walls express.
